1- The first thing I learned this module that really stuck out to me was actually on the very first page of the reading. I was unaware prior to this reading that addiction was considered a disease. Learning this really helped me to get a better understanding on people that suffer from various addictions and why it is so hard for them to break them. A disease is not something you can just put an end to. (addictions) Another thing I learned within this module that really surprised me was learning that coffee actually dehydrates you, I had never heard of that before now. While speaking of addiction as well, it is kind of odd to me that even though coffee makes you dehydrated, which is a feeling many do not like, that it is something that so many individuals are addicted to.
What stood out the me the most in chapter 8 was when they talked about parent influence on alcohol consumption. I have always thought the complete opposite from what they were saying in the book. They had stated how parents that allow drinking underage actually increase the chances of alcohol misuse, personally I really disagree with this. In all the instances I have seen first hand, the individuals which had a good and open relationship with their parents were the individuals that made smarter decisions, where as the individuals that felt the need to sneak around often were the ones who got more out of control once they reached college.

-Due to completing the learning journal prior to the end of the module, it is hard for me to completely comment on my participation, however at this current time, I have been slacking pretty badly. -Having missed the due date for the initial posting in the discussion forum, I had already missed out on a large portion of points. I had forgot what day the module had originally opened, so it skipped right over my mind when the post was due.
-One question I do have is if you post your question after the first four days, do you receive any credit for it? Or do you only receive credit for the other parts of the assignment?
